Qatar Boys and Korean Girls end Asian Youth Championship with victory in Short Oil Team event

2006AsZYCLogo_small.jpg Qatar's boys team with Mohammad Al Mannai, Hamad Al Mosalim, Salem Al Marzooki and Fahad Al Emadi captured the gold medal in the final event of the 13th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championship at Fairlanes City Bowl in Perth, Western Australia. The Korean girls led by six-time gold medallist Choi Jin-A, played in the their own league en route to win the seventh gold medal out of eight in the Short Oil Team event.

Choi Bok-Eum and Choi Jin-A cruise to All Events titles

Korea and Malaysia win Team All Events

2006AsZYCLogo_small.jpg Choi Bok-Eum and Choi Jin-A of Korea cruised to victory in the Individual All Events in the 13th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championship. Bok-Eum won his fourth gold medal in the Boys division with 7300 pinfall total, an average of 228,13 over 32 games on dual lane condition. Jin-A shot the highest series in the girl's competition in all but one event. She finished with 7405 32-game total to her her sventh gold medal.

Korean Boys win Long Oil Team event in Perth

Malaysia beats Korea for girl's title

2006AsZYCLogo_small.jpg The first defeat for 4-time Asian Youth Champion Choi Jin-A came in the fifth event, the Long Oil Team event, as Zandra Aziela, Zatil Iman, Siti Safiyah and Esther Cheah of Malaysia took the gold medal and While Jin-A and her teammates had to settle for silver. Japan took the bronze. The Korean boys, Choi Bok-Eum, Han Jae-Ho, Moo Jun-Ho and Chong Seung-Wan grabbed their third gold in the championship, well ahead of Japan and Malaysia.

Hong Kong (boys) and Korea (girls) claim the titles in Long Oil Doubles

Business as usual for Choi Jin-A, wins fourth gold

2006AsZYCLogo_small.jpg Hong Kong's Cyrus Cheung and Wu Siu Hong claimed the title in the Boys Long Oil Doubles at the 13th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championship. Business as usual for the dominating player in the girl's field: Choi Jin-A from Korea, who won her fourth title in as many events when she teamed with Gang Hye-Eun to take the girls title.

The Korean Juniors have won five out of six events thus far.

Korea's Choi Jin-A wins second Singles gold on short oil

Choi Jin-A.jpg After winning the Girls Long Oil contest, Choi Jin-A (pictured) of Korea won her second gold medal in the 13th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championship on the long oil condition. Jin-A used a pair off 255-games to cruise to victory with 1344 six-game total and an average of 224. In the Boys Division, Aaron Kong and Zulmazran Zulkifli took the gold and silver medal for Malaysia.

Korea sweeps Long Oil Singles in 13th Asian Youth Championship

2006AsZYCLogo_small.jpg Choi Bok-Eum and Choi Jin-A swept the gold medals in Long Oil Singles for Korea on the first day of competition in the 13th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championship at Fairlanes City Bowl in Perth, Western Australia. Unlike in the previous championships, there will be two gold medals awarded for the two conditions - long and short oil.

2006AsZYCLogo_small.jpg Tenpin Bowling Australia Limited is all set to host the 13th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championship with 120 bowlers and officials from 13 countries scheduled first to 10th Feburary at Fairlanes City Bowl. 49 boys and 32 girls from 13 countries will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals in Singles, Doubles, Team and All Events on dual lane condition.
